The adventures of the Glory B continue with the launch of the Captain's long awaited book: Glory B! 1000 Miles of Mishaps and Miracles. UPDATE: She now has a new engine and traveled (under her own power!) to her new moorage beside the float house the Lord so graciously provided for Lilly and the Captain in Thorne Bay. Plans are to complete the restoration that will have her "ship shape and Bristol fashion" in time to resume her exploration of Southeast Alaska, next summer.
Meanwhile, you can take a peek into their life and activities in this "Sweet Haven" that Lilly has named this spectacularly beautiful place by visiting the Captain's blog Compass Points, over at his website, CaptainGloryB.com. The postings here will continue to log the restoration, as well as the plotting of the course that will resurrect the "adventure of a lifetime" for all three of them. Until then, here's hoping you will enjoy the book trailer, read the book, and come back often to check up on what's happening out there in paradise.

<![CDATA[The Restoration Begins...]]>Wed, 06 Apr 2016 08:38:53 GMThttp://lightsmithpublishers.com/glory-b/the-restoration-begins Picture
In November of 2015, while the Captain and Lilly Maytree were on a holiday book tour in the "lower 48," their beautiful 32' yacht Glory B, began taking on water and sank at the Thorne Bay docks, back in Alaska. Had the disaster (caused by what was later deemed to be a defective small hose) happened in the daytime rather than the middle of a dark winter night, it could have been avoided. However, the Lord in His great mercy orchestrated many miracles and "divine appointments" in order for the classic sailboat to be raised up, again, in their absence.

Now, they are faced with the restoration of what many have said isn't worth the money compared to what it would cost to get a different boat, entirely. But the Glory B was a blessed boat, having seen many miracles during their great adventure, and the thought of giving up on her seemed--to them--similar to a decision on whether or not to stop life support on a failing loved one. So, they have committed themselves to the huge task, fully persuaded that she will sail again, to continue their wonderful "Mystery Tour," from which they have not yet returned. Will they ever?

A full account of their voyage will be available this summer, in a book by the Captain titled, Glory B! 1000 Miles of Mishaps and Miracles
. In the meantime, you can continue to follow their progress here, along with the divine footsteps and favor the good Lord seems to constantly pour out on them as they try to keep up with Him.
